Pietro Beconcini Agricola winery in San Miniato

The history of Pietro Beconcini Agricola begins in the early 50’s. Leonardo Beconcini is part of the fourth generation of winemakers in his family. His project starts in the early 90’s, with many years of territory studies and mass selection, after the first year of “Sangiovese in Purezza” in 1995 the Reciso was born.

Since 1997 Eva Bellagamba has shared the conduction of the Pietro Beconcini Agricola with me, agency that today counts 14 years since its organic conversion. Patience and carefulness have been the keys of the research in the field done until today. The passing of time helped to achieve great results: the innovation of the cultivation methods, understanding deeply the soil, the selection of two local Sangiovesi that still today produce wine, the improvement of the Malvasia Nera (that grows together with the Sangiovese), and spotting the unbelievable presence of a amazing plant, that in 2004 a DNA analysis stated as Tempranillo.

Beconcini produces seven red wines and two Vinsanto’s: Reciso Sangiovese in Purezza, Maurleo Sangiovese and Malvasia Nera, IXE Tempranillo in Purezza, Vignale Nicchie Tempranillo in Purezza, Fresco di Nero Tempranillo in Purezza, Antiche Vie di Chianti DOCG, Pietro Beconcini Riserva in Chianti DOCG, Castello Vinsanto DOC and Aria Vinsanto Occhio di Pernice DOC.

Pietro Beconcini Agricola- independent winemaker of FIVI Sangiovese and Tempranillo fine wines in Tuscany The Beconcini’s live in San Miniato and cultivate their vineyards completely respecting the territory and local grapes. Pietro Beconcini Winery has been in the heart for four generations. Between Florence and Pisa lies a wine-growing area which qualities are unique: here the soil is rich in seashells (that enrich the ground in mineral salts) and clay is caressed by the Mediterranean breeze. They choose to produce my own wines, only made by grapes, in deep respect of wine and obsessive attention of our vineyards.
